Quite a few years ago my husband and I took a cruise out of Miami that stopped at Key West on it’s way to Cozumel. Honestly, I am not a cruising kind of person, but my husband arranged it secretly (probably knowing I would resist if he discussed it with me), so I decided to be open-minded and I did have a good time.

If you are looking for a place to have fun on your honeymoon, Key West might be for you. Duval Street is famous for it’s line up of bars including Sloppy Joe’s.
Places to stay in Key West:
Sunset Key is an exclusive island getaway just off the coast from Key West. A 10 minute ferry ride takes you to the 27-acre island which contains a resort and residential community. I imagine that this place is quite pricey.

Don’t miss the famous Sloppy Joe’s where Earnest Hemmingway was known to hang out.
When searching for a place to stay, keep in mind that Key West is a relatively small area and there is a lot crammed into that small area. If you opt for a room near the night life areas- you should probably enjoy staying up or going out all night!
