The Postcard Inn on Florida’s gulf coast in St. Petersburg (St. Pete Beach, actually) looks like the perfect spot to stay for a beach vacation. And for those with a pet they can’t bring themselves to leave behind, the place is pet friendly!
The rooms are decorated in “surfer chic” (so says the website) with artwork by local photographers adorning the walls in many of the rooms. I doubt that much surfing goes on in the Gulf, since the water is usually without waves, but who knows? In fact the “large scale” photography covers the entire wall in at least one of the room photos on the website. I think I saw a bead curtain in one of the room photos – flashback to sixties!
Updated retro / vintage decor seems to be the theme throughout with lovely outdoor sitting areas of comfy couches, rattan chairs, colorful throw pillows, and Adirondack chairs.
There is the PCI Bar and Grill right on the premises, with links to their lunch and dinner menus. They offer wedding packages for events which can take place outdoors in the Garden Courtyard or inside in the Sunset Ballroom.
This place is right on the beach, no crossing a road or walking for five minutes lugging your stuff. The Gulf coast is a great place to search for beautiful seashells too.
And of course there is a pool, with rooms available steps away for those who like to walk out the door and be poolside. Little cabanas and beach chairs line the sand in one of the site’s photos and with calm water like you find in that area, I’ll bet there is paddle-boarding available somewhere close by.
Also, the Postcard Inn is pet friendly (up to 25 pounds), so no need to leave the pooch behind on your next get-away.
I have never stayed here, and rarely visited the Gulf Coast when I lived in central Florida, but I wanted to share the info on this cute place to stay. View lots of pictures and more information at the Postcard Inn site. Have you stayed here? Leave us a comment!
