Lettered olive shells are about 2 inches long and can be found in many colors from black to gold. In fact I’ve read that the golden olive is a rare find. The ones pictured here were found along the gulf coast of Florida, but they can be found along the southeastern coast of the United States also and it is the state shell of South Carolina.
